Our story
Rob's journey with autism began at home, inspired by his son Seb, who is on the autism spectrum. Witnessing firsthand the unique challenges Seb and others with autism face, Rob is dedicated to raising awareness and support for this cause. Autism not only affects those diagnosed but also their families and surrounding communities, who often navigate a landscape of emotional, educational, and social hurdles. By spotlighting these experiences, Rob hopes to foster greater understanding and empathy, while raising essential funds for organizations tirelessly working to support individuals with autism.
Throughout the year, 100 Miles for Autism hosts a variety of events to engage the community and raise awareness. One such initiative is the Monthly Bring a Friend Trainings at TFW Beerse. These sessions provide an opportunity for participants to bring friends and experience a training session together, promoting both fitness and solidarity for the cause. Additionally, we organize T-Shirt sales, where all proceeds go directly to autism support organizations. These events not only raise vital funds but also create a sense of community and shared purpose.
Culminating the year's efforts, Rob and Jimmy will embark on an extraordinary challenge: a 100-mile ultramarathon. On December 27th 2024, they will run from Oostende to Beerse, pushing their physical and mental limits to symbolize the enduring journey of those affected by autism. This monumental effort underscores their commitment to the cause and aims to inspire others to support and contribute to the autism community. Join us in cheering them on and making a difference, one mile at a time.
